How do I nominate someone for the Hall of Fame?

The nomination process

Nominations for the Scott County Sports Hall of Fame are welcome year around. However, the annual deadline is September 30 for nominees to be considered for the next class. Nominations received after September 30 will be held for consideration for subsequent classes.

Once a person is nominated and is confirmed eligible for consideration, their name will remain in the general nomination pool. Therefore, it is not necessary to submit a new nomination form each year for the same person unless their contact information has changed or the contact information for the person submitting the nomination has changed.

If you have nominated someone, or plan to do so, please stay in touch with them or their family to have current contact information to provide us.

Nominations must be submitted on our official form (see below for download) for nominees to be considered by the selection committee. Nominations must include the following information:

  • Name and current contact information of the nominee
  • Specify nomination in capacity as a player or coach
  • Name and current contact information of the person submitting the nomination
  • Supporting information that can be verified for the committee to base its decision, This includes, but not limited to, biographical information, achievements and statistics as a player or coach in their chosen sport and other related details. This information can be on additional pages attached to the official form.
  • A photo of the nominee

A good quality headshot photograph of the nominee is needed if at all possible. Photo must be at least 3 inches by 5 inches in size and WILL NOT be returned.

Failure to provide all requested information and materials on/with nomination form will cause nomination to be rejected until all requirements are met. All information must be in neat and legible condition. Unreadable nominations will not be considered.

The selection committee reserves the right to reject any nomination form if rules are not followed or if nominee does not meet the eligibility requirements.
